Sterlite Tech's approach towards empowering lives

Corporate social responsibility (CSR, also called corporate conscience, corporate citizenship or responsible business) is a form of corporate self-regulation integrated into a business model. At Sterlite Tech, we look at holistically integrating the organisation's core business with the social and environmental concerns of our communities. This in turn helps us give an impetus to economic development and improves the living standards of community members and society at large.

  • Jeewan Jyoti Women's Empowerment Programme

India is a country of myriad contradictions. On one hand, it has grown to become an increasingly important player in the emerging global order and one of the largest economies in the world, while on the other hand it still remains home to the largest number of people living in poverty and gender inequality. A large part of the country still remains in villages and the girl child still remains deprived of basic educational facilities. Inequality is rampant and upliftment of underprivileged women is the need of the hour. Jeewan Jyoti - Sterlite Tech’s flagship initiative aims to address these issues by empowering the under privileged sections of society, especially rural women with equal learning opportunities and with professional training courses in their formative years; thereby providing them with sustainable income opportunities.
